Why has my CardSmart Flex card declined?

There are a number of reasons why your CardSmart Flex card may not be working. Please check the following options:

  • Have you set a PIN? Use CardLink Online to do this (takes up to 36 hours for the PIN to be active).
  • Have you linked your debit or credit card to your Flex card? Do this on CardLink Online.
  • Is your Flex card set up to buy the type of fuel you are trying to pump? If it is set to Petrol only, you cannot buy diesel for instance. You can check and update this on CardLink Online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Is there enough balance on your debit/ credit card? We check your available balance with the bank before we allow the fuel purchase to go through. If there isn’t enough money, then we will decline the purchase.
